Dr. Ashley Price earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2002, and went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the LSU Dental School in New Orleans in 2006.
Dr. Price moved back to Lafayette after graduation to be near family and practice dentistry in the city she loves. She decided to become a dentist because most of her family members were afraid of receiving dental care. She always enjoyed going to the dentist, and she wanted to help people feel comfortable so they could have the same great experiences she had. She loves getting to know her patients, and she is committed to helping all of them feel like family. She finds dentistry particularly satisfying because she knows that a smile can change your life.
Dr. Price feels fortunate that she gets to help people by relieving their pain and educating them on advancements in technology that have made pain-free dentistry a reality. She says, “I love giving my patients the smile they never dreamed they could have.”
She loves continuing education and has pursued post-graduate training at over twice the rate required by the state, earning more than 100 hours every two years, where the state requires only 40. She has also pursued special training in sedation dentistry, so she can help her patients who are fearful. She has also been trained in Invisalign® and is an advanced level provider for Six Month Smiles®.
When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Price is with her husband Jeremy, their two children, AJ and Marissa, and their cat, Gumbo. Marissa plays travel volleyball and the fiddle, and AJ plays football and baseball, and they both attend St. Bernard. She and her family love attending LSU and UL sporting events, and they are very active in their church Parish, where both children are altar servers. Whenever she can, she volunteers her time to help others.
Dr. Price is a part-time faculty member at the Louisiana State University Health and Science Center’s Dental Hygiene Program and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Acadiana Dental Association.
